Interpretation service
The success of a project depends above all on how it is set up:
- specify the sector of activity or field of application of interpretation (financial, commercial, technical, etc.)
- provide us with all project-specific documentation to allow the interpreter to prepare as thoroughly as possible.
There are three types of interpretation:
- Business interpretation (“de liaison”): The interpreter’s role is to facilitate communication between a small number of participants at a meeting or event.
- l’interprétation simultanée : The interpreter simultaneously translates the discourse made by speakers during debates or conferences.
He/she sits in a high-tech booth (with a headset and microphone for the interpreter, as well as headsets for those listening).
Simultaneous interpretation requires two interpreters to carry out the job under good circumstances.
- Consecutive interpretation: The speaker talks for a set amount of time (usually around 10 minutes) and then gives the interpreter the opportunity to transpose this discourse into the target language. The interpreter can use any notes he/she has taken during the original discourse.
This is a good method for meetings, visits to the field, the factory or the laboratory, negotiations or even phone calls.
